About Us

Puddleduck is run by an elected management committee taken mostly form the parents/carers of the children at Puddleduck. The Committee is responsible for:

· Managing the settings finances

· Employing and managing the staff

· Making sure that we have, and work to, policies that help to provide a high quality of service

· Making sure that Puddleduck works in partnership with the children’s parents/carers

Premises

We currently occupy premises at The Moor where we have a large room designed to be as child friendly as possible, filled with stimulating toys and equipment and a secure outside play area that we utilize as often as possible.

We have a plot of land allocated to us on the Primary School site, which we hope to move to as soon as the necessary funding and planning is in place.

We aim to ensure that each child:

Is in a safe and stimulating environment

Is given generous care and attention, because of our ratio of qualified staff to children, as well as volunteer parent helpers

Has the chance to join with other children and adults to live, play, work and learn together

Is helped to take forward her/his learning and development by being helped to build on what she/he already knows and can do

Has a personal key worker who makes sure each child makes satisfying progress

Is in a setting that sees parents as partners in helping each child to learn and develop and

Is in a setting in which parents help to shape the service it offers.
